The project of Yuefeng Aluminum Group won the second prize of Science and Technology of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China

Recently, at the 2023 China Automobile Industry Science and Technology Award Ceremony, the project "R&D and Application of High-performance Aluminum Alloy Plates for Automotive Lightweight and Key Technologies for Preparation" jointly completed by Yuefeng Aluminum Materials Institute, Yuefeng New Materials, Yuefeng Aluminum Technology, Yuefeng Aluminum Die-casting, and Zhejiang Geely Automobile won the second prize of Science and Technology Award of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China.
 
After more than ten years of research and development, a series of achievements have been made, and the expert group organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers of China has been rated as the international advanced level:
 
First, it has made a breakthrough in the key technology of high-performance aluminum alloy plate and preparation for body panels, developed a new type of 6 series aluminum alloy, solved the problems of low surface flatness and poor hemming performance of aluminum plates for automotive panels, and significantly improved the brushing line and hemming performance of aluminum plates for panels;
 
The second is to break through the key technology of aluminum alloy plate and preparation for the inner plate of the cover, develop a new type of 5 series aluminum alloy with high strength and low yield ratio, with excellent surface quality and good formability, and invent a new type of 6 series aluminum alloy with high energy absorption, which is conducive to pedestrian head protection and material recycling;
 
The third is to invent a new surface treatment technology for aluminum alloy with high bonding strength, improve the bonding performance of aluminum alloy parts, and develop a complete set of technologies for new aluminum alloy composition, aluminum plate surface cleaning and passivation continuous treatment process, which significantly improves the wire corrosion resistance and welding performance of aluminum alloy plates.
 
The results of the project have been industrialized and applied in many car companies, and the independent research and development of aluminum alloy plates has been realized, with significant economic and social benefits.
 
It is understood that the China Automobile Industry Science and Technology Award is China's first social force award registered and approved by the National Science and Technology Award Office, and is the highest level of science and technology award in China's automotive industry.
