On August 9, 2023, the Association standard Project review meeting of the "Technical Specification for Low-carbon Products of Aluminum Alloy Plate for Automotive Use" formulated by Shanghai Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association and China Quality Certification Center Shanghai Branch and Shanghai Non-ferrous Metals Standardization Technical Committee was held online. Gao Yongjin, general manager of Shanghai Huafeng Aluminum Co., Ltd. chaired the meeting. CAI Ru, engineer of the fourth department of China Quality Certification Center Shanghai Branch, reported the purpose, significance, scope and main technical content of the technical specification project, and made clear the timetable for drafting the standard.
According to the experts: The community standard of the "Technical Specification for low-carbon Products of Aluminum Alloy plate for Automobile" formulated this time is based on the whole life cycle methodology to clarify the calculation method of the carbon footprint of aluminum alloy plate for automobile products, and puts forward the reference value of carbon emissions of aluminum alloy plate for automobile products, thus providing a reference standard and calculation method for aluminum alloy plate for automobile manufacturers and the automobile industry. It fills the gap in the field of low-carbon standards for aluminum alloy plate and strip products for automobiles.
Experts pointed out that the introduction of the technical specification is forward-looking and extensive. In today's foreign non-ferrous metal head enterprises and automobile manufacturers have also begun to adopt sustainable development methods to produce aluminum alloy plates, reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in the production process, as well as the source of raw materials and recycling and other measures, the standard drafting of participating enterprises involving six provinces and one city and other aluminum alloy plate belt enterprises, as well as some automobile Oems actively participate. It will help to establish a domestic green and sustainable automobile industry chain and promote the sustainable development of the entire industry chain of the automobile industry.
Experts suggest: First, since the standard involves the setting of low-carbon values, it is hoped that comprehensive data collection and field research can be further carried out in the early stage to ensure the authenticity and integrity of the data. Second, aluminum alloy plate and strip are widely used in automobiles, and the processes used by various components are also different, and experts propose carbon data that they also hope to classify, investigate and summarize.
The members of the expert group unanimously adopted the project proposal of the "Technical Specification for low-carbon Products of Aluminum alloy plate and belt for Automobile".
