India's primary aluminum production in the first nine months of the 2024-25 fiscal year increased by 1.6% to 3.156 million tons year-on-year

According to foreign media reports, according to preliminary data, India's iron ore production in the first nine months of the 2024-25 fiscal year (April-December 2024) increased by 2.5% year-on-year to 208 million tons, compared with 203 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year; Manganese ore production increased 8.3% year-over-year to 2.6 million tons, compared to 2.4 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year; Chromite production increased 9.5% to 2.3 million tons compared to 2.1 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year; Bauxite production increased 6.5% year-on-year to 18.1 million tonnes, compared with 17 million tonnes in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In the non-ferrous metals sector, India's primary aluminum production in the first nine months of the 2024-25 fiscal year increased by 1.6% year-on-year to 3.156 million tons, compared with 3.107 million tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year; Refined copper production increased 7.3% year-over-year to 396,000 tons from 369,000 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
India is the world's second largest producer of aluminium, one of the top 10 producers of refined copper and the fourth largest producer of iron ore. Continued growth in iron ore production highlights strong demand from the country's steel sector, in addition to increased aluminum and copper production indicating continued strong economic activity in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, automotive and machinery.
