The all-aluminum air car will be widely used in 2025

June 12, 2023
Now the traffic in big cities is mostly crowded, and sometimes driving a car has to move one meter by one meter, which makes people anxious. We couldn't help thinking, if only cars could fly! Don't worry, this flying car is really coming, is an all-aluminum flying car, is a vehicle that can fly in the air in the city, is a car when it is used on the ground, and is an aircraft when it is used in the air. In order to reduce the weight of the car body, most of the structural parts are made of aluminum alloy and aluminum matrix composite materials. It is reported that the era of this air car is coming, and it is expected to be generally practical by 2025.

On October 1, 2022, the flying car Traveler X2 flying car of China Xiaopeng Hutian Company conducted a test in Dubai and achieved a complete success. It's an electric flying taxi. Company officials said the test, which was conducted with no one in the cabin, followed a previous passenger-carrying flight test in July 2021. The flying taxi can carry two passengers, is equipped with eight powered propellers, and has a maximum flight speed of 130km/h. Electric vertical take-off and landing flying taxis are different from planes and helicopters in that the service provided is point-to-point rapid personal travel, and in two or three years it is likely to achieve airlift passengers on crowded urban roads, accurately and quickly. However, the vehicle still faces huge challenges from the real introduction to the application, such as battery life, air traffic control and safety, infrastructure and so on.

On August 22, 2022, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) unveiled an ambitious plan: unmanned aircraft capable of short-distance manned flights by 2025, medium-distance flights by 2030, and medium-long flights by 2035.

It is reported that SF Express launched a pilot drone logistics delivery in June 2017, and in April 2018, the company obtained a drone aviation operation (pilot) license. A few years ago, JD.com also had drone logistics operations in Chengdu, Xi 'an and Hainan, and said it would cooperate with Nvidia to produce 100 drones by 2023.

The CAAC said that by 2025, it will standardize all flight paths and requirements for drones and continuously improve its communication and monitoring systems, and a number of technologies, including the Global Positioning System (GPS), Beidou system, laser and ultrasonic sensors, will be applied to locate and guide drones.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China said that by 2025, short-distance manned flights, represented by urban commuter transport, will be demonstrated. The flying taxis will initially take off at irregular times and will gradually be converted into regular services. China's main UAV manufacturing enterprises are Shenzhen DJI Innovation Technology Co., LTD., Guangzhou Jifei Technology Co., LTD., Guangzhou Ehang Intelligent Technology Co., LTD.

Whether it is a flying taxi or other aircraft, the lighter the mass is required, so under current conditions, most of the materials for these aircraft are made of aluminum and aluminum matrix composite materials. Aluminum matrix composite material is a high-tech material with aluminum or aluminum alloy content ≥85%.
