March 10, 2025
According to foreign media reports, Tashkent Investment Company said that Uzbekistan will start up a new aluminum can manufacturing and beverage bottling plant in June 2025. The plant plans to produce 1.1 billion aluminum cans per year at the initial stage, and gradually expand to 2.2 billion aluminum cans per year in the later stage. In addition, the plant will also build a beverage bottling line with an annual output of 650.9 million aluminum and PET packaging pieces.
The project is backed by foreign investment firm East Can Solutions with a total investment of US $90 million, of which US $18 million came from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) loan.
Located in the "Yangi Avlod" Free Economic Zone of Tashkent, the plant covers an area of 21 hectares and has a manufacturing area of 100,000 square meters.
As the first large-scale plant in Uzbekistan in the relevant field, the plant will greatly reduce the dependence on imported aluminum packaging and facilitate the flow of domestic products into the export market. According to the plan, 30% of the plant's production will be supplied to Russia, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries, with a potential annual export income of $50 million.
