According to foreign media reports, as the United States raises tariffs on imported aluminum, aluminum products exported to the US have lost their competitiveness. Canadian aluminum producers are increasingly exporting more aluminum used for can making and automotive parts to Europe.
According to statistics, in the second quarter of 2025, the proportion of Canada's aluminum exports to the United States dropped to 78%, reaching 95% in the first quarter, while the share to Europe rose to 18%, accounting for 0.2% in the first quarter.
