Alba Aluminium Company announced on Wednesday that its contracts were affected by force majeure due to the inability to deliver goods.
The company spokesperson stated that due to the halt of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, the company was unable to deliver its goods. Although production is still ongoing, the produced metals are currently stuck at the Bahrain Aluminum Company.
Bahrain Aluminium Company has one of the largest aluminium smelting plants in the world. According to their official website, the company's aluminium production in 2025 is expected to be 1.62 million tons.
After this news was released, the aluminum price on the London Metal Exchange soared by 5.1% to $3,418 per ton, reaching its highest level since April 2022.
