July 20, 2025
On Tuesday, July 15th, Goldman Sachs stated in a released report that it expects the LME copper price to fall from the previously estimated $10,050 per ton to $9,550 per ton in August. Goldman Sachs said: "We maintain our bullish recommendation on the December 2025 COMEX-LME copper carry trade as the market still significantly underestimates the highly likely 50% tariff rate to be implemented." Goldman Sachs maintains its copper price forecast for the end of 2025 at $9,700 per ton, with annual average prices of $10,000 and $10,750 per ton for 2026 and 2027 respectively. Goldman Sachs predicts that LME aluminum futures will reach $2,400 per ton in 2025 and $2,230 per ton in 2026.
