On September 23rd, at the 20th meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yuan Huang, the director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of the Autonomous Region, was entrusted by the People's Government of the Autonomous Region to deliver a report on the implementation of the "Decision of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Promoting High-Quality Development of the Aluminum Industry" (hereinafter referred to as the "Decision").
The report shows that Guangxi has taken the high-quality development of the aluminum industry as a key task in promoting the three-year action plan for industrial revitalization. By strengthening leading enterprises, supplementing industrial chains, and gathering industrial clusters, as well as enhancing innovation, cultivating brands, and expanding markets, it has advanced the "high-end, intelligent, and green" development of the aluminum industry. The high-quality development of the aluminum industry has achieved remarkable results.
The industrial output value has doubled in the first round. In 2024, the total industrial output value of the aluminum industry above designated size in the entire region will reach 205 billion yuan. From January to July 2025, the total industrial output value of the aluminum industry above designated size reached 133 billion yuan, and the total output value for the whole year is expected to exceed 240 billion yuan, achieving the first round of doubling target set in the "Decision" one year ahead of schedule. The aluminum industry has become a key pillar industry driving the economic development of the entire region.
Key indicators have been upgraded and advanced. In 2024, the total output of alumina in the region reached 14.543 million tons, ranking third in the country. The output of electrolytic aluminum was 2.932 million tons, ranking 6th in the country. The output of aluminium materials was 4.304 million tons, ranking 4th in the country. From January to July 2025, the industry continued to maintain a good growth trend. The proportion of deep processing in aluminum materials reached 41.4%, achieving the goal of "over 40% of deep processing" set in the "Decision" one year ahead of schedule.
The industrial structure has been significantly optimized. The technologies and scales of high-end aluminum applications such as aerospace aluminum, high-purity aluminum-based new materials, and special materials have been continuously breaking through and expanding. Guangxi Aluminum Industry Group Co., Ltd. has successfully achieved large-scale production of 4N-grade high-purity aluminum, and Rongrong New Materials Technology (Guangxi) Co., Ltd. has realized mass production of alumina continuous fiber products. Fill the gap of new alumina materials in Guangxi in the fields of national defense and military industry, space exploration, nuclear energy, etc.
The innovation capacity has been significantly enhanced. In terms of the scale of innovation platforms, there are 38 scientific and technological innovation platforms at or above the autonomous region level in the aluminum industry in our district, including 1 national-level enterprise technology center and 1 national and local joint laboratory. In terms of key technologies, the aluminum industry has cumulatively broken through 24 core technologies in areas such as high-purity aluminum, high-performance aluminum alloy materials, and automotive lightweighting. In terms of digital and intelligent transformation, four benchmark enterprises of intelligent manufacturing in Guangxi and 17 intelligent factories in Guangxi have been established. Among them, two enterprises, namely Guangxi Nannan Aluminum Processing Co., Ltd. and Guangxi Huasheng New Materials Co., LTD., have been selected as national intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories.
