India has imposed new quality control regulations for imported aluminum products.

According to an article in the Indian "Coinage Journal" dated March 15, on March 13, the Department of Industrial and Internal Trade Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued a new quality control directive (QCO), requiring that all aluminum and aluminum alloy products produced by domestic and overseas enterprises in India must comply with the standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), and obtain a license issued by BIS. This directive covers a wide range of products, including aluminum alloy pipes for irrigation, electrical conductors (EC) grade aluminum rods, aluminum foil for pharmaceutical packaging, aluminum composite panels, corrugated aluminum sheets, aluminum for general engineering and electrical applications, as well as aluminum and aluminum alloy rods, bars, plates, sheets, strips, wires, and rivets.
