The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology visits the Nonferrous Metals Association to promote the Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance

April 3, 2020

Abstract: Chang Guowu pointed out that the negative impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the industry is complex and diverse, the non-ferrous industry has taken the initiative to overcome difficulties, and achieved remarkable results, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will work together with associations and industry enterprises to promote the steady development of the industry.

On March 31, Chang Guowu, deputy director of the raw materials department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and his party visited the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and discussed with GE Honglin, party committee secretary of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, on promoting the intelligent transformation and upgrading of the nonferrous metals industry, establishing the China Nonferrous Metals Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance, understanding the operation of the industry under the influence of the epidemic, and discussing relevant policy suggestions.

GE Honglin welcomed Chang Guowu and his entourage and briefly introduced the main work of the association, the recent operation of the non-ferrous industry, and the effectiveness of epidemic prevention and control and the resumption of work and production in the non-ferrous industry.

With the development of Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies, intelligent manufacturing has become the common theme of the current manufacturing development. Efforts should be made to promote the intelligent transformation and upgrading of the non-ferrous industry and speed up the intelligent manufacturing process of non-ferrous metals. It is the only way to achieve high-quality development of the industry. For this reason, under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and the China Nonferrous Metals Association are organizing enterprises, institutions, universities and relevant technical support institutions to study the establishment plan of the China Nonferrous Metals Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance. It is proposed to integrate the resources of the government, industry and enterprises to form a joint force to help the intelligent development of the non-ferrous industry.

GE Honglin pointed out that at present, intelligent manufacturing in China's non-ferrous metals industry already has a good foundation, and preliminary results have been achieved in many individual intelligent technologies. In particular, many enterprises have achieved the integrated development of intelligence, informatization, and other aspects, truly achieved unmanned production, fully automated production, and the establishment of an industry intelligent manufacturing alliance will guide the landing of national policies. Form an important carrier for stable optimization and efficient coordinated development of industry enterprises. The non-ferrous Association will spare no effort to promote the related work of establishing an intelligent manufacturing alliance: first, to take 2020 as the starting year for the establishment of an intelligent manufacturing alliance, and to pay close attention to all related work; second, to learn from excellent industry experience, organize industries, enterprises, universities and technical institutions to jointly implement; third, to study and formulate a number of programs and standard project proposals to guide and promote the specific landing of intelligent manufacturing projects in various enterprises.

Chang Guowu fully affirmed the work of the non-ferrous association and its contribution to the development of the industry, and pointed out that the negative factors of the COVID-19 epidemic on the industry are complex and diverse, and the non-ferrous industry has taken the initiative to overcome difficulties, with remarkable results. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will work together with associations and industry enterprises to promote the steady development of the industry.

Chang Guowu pointed out that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has always attached great importance to intelligent manufacturing. Last year, the Department of Raw material Industry specially carried out on-site research on intelligent manufacturing in the non-ferrous industry, studied and compiled guidelines for the construction of intelligent mines, intelligent smelting plants and intelligent processing plants in the non-ferrous industry, and established an intelligent manufacturing alliance in the non-ferrous industry, which is of great significance to promote the implementation of the guidelines and accelerate the intelligent process of the non-ferrous industry. Intelligent manufacturing is a complex system engineering. The alliance should adhere to open cooperation and cross-border integration, integrate intelligent manufacturing resources inside and outside the industry, introduce advanced experience from other industries, take the implementation of guidelines as the primary task, and set up a professional team. we should pay attention to the promotion and application of achievements, the formulation of industry standards, the promotion of pilot demonstration, and support industry management, and pragmatically promote the work of the alliance.

Huang Yu, director of the Nonferrous Department of the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Jia Xing, vice president and secretary general of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, and Wen Xianjun, vice president, attended the forum.
