According to the official website of Hydro, on October 27th, Hydro began construction of a 5,900-ton reverse extrusion production line in Cressona, Pennsylvania. The project investment is 53.5 million US dollars, and it is expected to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2028.
Hydro has nearly 6,000 employees and 19 production bases in 14 states of the United States. It plans to invest over 800 million US dollars in the next five years, but it also expresses concerns about the impact of US tariff policies on the competitiveness of domestic manufacturing. Currently, Hydro's extrusion production facilities in Europe are facing high and frequently changing tariffs, which increase costs and bring uncertainty.
