Yuefeng Aluminum obtained the patent of aluminum alloy for large aircraft

On September 11, 2024, Jiangsu Yuefeng Aluminum Co., Ltd. obtained a project titled "An Al-Mg-Cu series aluminum alloy L profile product and manufacturing method with high stress corrosion resistance for large aircraft" with an application date of March 2023.
The patent abstract shows that the invention provides a preparation method of Al-Mg-Cu series aluminum alloy L-shaped extrusion material with high stress corrosion cracking resistance for large aircraft. The main processes are: alloy composition ratio, melting casting, uniform heat treatment of round ingot, extrusion treatment, pre-drawing, pre-sawing, solution heat treatment, stretching straightening and natural aging. The stress-corrosion cracking resistance of L-shaped aluminum alloy extrusions prepared by this method is significantly higher than the acceptance requirements of existing mainstream aviation OAA. Moreover, the stress-corrosion cracking resistance of L-shaped extrusions at different positions can be further improved by means of the arrangement of extrusion die holes, so that Al-Mg-Cu aluminum alloy can be more widely used. Increase aircraft service life and reduce maintenance costs.
