Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Shanxi Province issued the "Notice on Announcing the List of Approved Construction Bases for Shanxi Province in 2025". The "Shanxi Province Green and Low-Carbon Aluminum Alloy New Materials Pilot Base" applied for by Yuefeng Aluminum Shanxi New Materials Co., Ltd. was successfully selected, marking a major breakthrough for the company in the field of green aluminum-based new materials technology transfer platform construction. It has officially entered the ranks of provincial high-level pilot-scale carriers.
 
As the first large central state-owned enterprise in Shanxi Province to possess a complete aluminum industrial chain covering "mining - alumina - electrolytic aluminum - aluminum processing", the successful application for the pilot base this time is a concentrated demonstration of the company's years of deep commitment to green innovation and strengthening of technological transformation capabilities. The base construction will focus on the development and transformation of low-carbon products, mainly focusing on the research and development of high-value-added green aluminum alloy materials. Through process scale-up experiments, it will promote the application of lightweight and high-strength products to meet the demands of fields such as new energy vehicles and high-end manufacturing. Among them, in the high-end casting field, high-strength, high-toughness and high-performance die-casting aluminum alloys will be developed, and the quality will be improved through composition optimization. The high-end wrought aluminum alloy field focuses on materials for rail transit profiles and automotive lightweight forgings, and optimizes the entire process to enhance competitiveness. In the field of recycled aluminum, breakthroughs have been made in technologies such as the sorting of used aluminum materials and the purification of molten materials. A demonstration line for the industrialization of high-end recycled aluminum alloys for new energy vehicles has been established. Research on green and low-carbon aluminum purification has been advanced, and the extensive mode of waste aluminum recycling has been improved.
 
Next, the company will strictly follow the "Trial Measures for the Construction and Operation Management of Pilot Bases in Shanxi Province", relying on the foundation of platforms such as the national-level enterprise technology center, and build a complete innovation chain of "basic research - technological breakthroughs - pilot production maturation - application of achievements" in line with provincial standards, to create a comprehensive transformation hub of "technological breakthroughs - pilot production maturation - achievement demonstration - industrial services". After the base is completed, it will accelerate the industrialization of technologies such as comprehensive utilization of red mud, contribute the strength of central enterprises to implementing the industry development plan, promoting ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, and helping Shanxi build an innovation highland for the aluminum industry.
