Yuefeng Group Co., Ltd. is located in Yufeng New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, China. The two production facilities for the production of round aluminum rods for electrical engineers have successfully obtained the ASI Performance Standard V3.1 (2023) certification.
On January 28th, the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced that Yuefeng New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. has been certified to the ASI Performance Standard V3.1 (2023). The company operates two production sites and mainly produces aluminum rods, aluminum conductors, and enameled aluminum winding wires. The annual production capacity is approximately 300,000 tons of aluminum rods, 130,000 tons of aluminum conductors and wires, and 10,000 tons of enameled aluminum winding wires. Its production process covers refining, casting, rolling, winding, drawing, twisting and enameling, and the products are widely used in the downstream power and industrial sectors.
The ASI certification program was developed through a broad consultation process involving multiple stakeholders and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainable development standard initiative in the aluminum value chain. After a revision process over several years, the ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was launched in May 2022. Under the three pillars of environment, society, and governance, 11 principles and 62 criteria were defined, aiming to address urgent sustainable development issues in the aluminum value chain, such as biodiversity, indigenous rights, circularity, and greenhouse gas emissions. In 2023, the relevant standard documents were updated with minor improvements to become the Performance Standard V3.1 (2023) and the Regulatory Chain Standard V2.1 (2023), mainly involving text editing, error correction, and content clarification.
The independent third-party audit of Yuefeng New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. was conducted by SGS-CSTC Standard Technical Services Co., Ltd. The summary audit report on page 5 provides a complete list of the audit results, outlining the evidence for compliance and minor non-conformities. This audit recorded 3 minor non-conformities, including: criteria 6.3a-g assessment and management of leakage and spillage incidents, 6.5a-c waste management and reporting, and 11.1a occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system. During the validity period of the certification, Yuefeng New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. will implement corrective measures and will have these verified in subsequent audits.
