Yuefeng Research Institute Achieves Breakthrough in 'Real-Time Online AI Analysis Application for Bauxite Composition'

Recently, Yuefeng Nonferrous Metals Research Institute Co., Ltd. successfully developed the 'Real-Time Online AI Analysis Application for Bauxite Composition.' The emergence of this technology and equipment marks a key breakthrough in solving the long-standing problem of lagging bauxite composition detection in the alumina production industry.
 
In traditional alumina production processes, bauxite composition detection mainly relies on the 'manual sampling and laboratory sample analysis' method, with a single test taking about 4 hours. The feedback of results is severely delayed, making it difficult to meet the real-time requirements for precise ore blending. With global bauxite resource supply tightening, ore sources becoming more varied, and composition fluctuations intensifying, this problem has directly affected the product quality and production stability of alumina.
 
To address these industry pain points, Yuefeng Research Institute systematically conducted research on bauxite spectral data collection methods, innovatively adopting a preprocessing technology that integrates data with physical mechanisms, building a high-accuracy deep AI detection model driven by feature fusion and transfer learning, and successfully developing online bauxite detection equipment with all core components domestically produced. This equipment can detect various major components in the ore, such as alumina, ferric oxide, and silica, in real time within the production process, reducing single test time from 4 hours to 20 seconds, increasing detection efficiency by 720 times, with an average relative error of less than 5% for each component.
 
This technology can adapt to the composition changes of various domestic and international bauxites, enabling real-time guidance and precise control of alumina production, significantly improving production continuity and stability. Currently, the technology has been industrially applied in two alumina enterprises, showing outstanding economic and social benefits.
 
According to evaluations by experts organized by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, this technology has reached an internationally leading level. The project has obtained 7 authorized invention patents and was selected among the 'Top 50 Innovation Tracks for Intelligent Detection Equipment' in the second Manufacturing Intelligence Solution Innovation Competition. This achievement fills a gap in the field of real-time online detection of bauxite domestically and internationally, providing strong technical support for promoting the intelligent upgrading of the alumina industry.
