Argentina makes final ruling on sunset review and situation changes of anti-dumping measures on Chinese aluminum plates

On February 12, 2026, the Argentine Ministry of Economy issued Announcement No. 134 of 2026, making a negative final ruling on the sunset and situation change review of the anti-dumping measures against aluminum sheets originally produced in China [Spanish: Chapas de aluminio sin alear o de aleaciones de aluminio de la Serie 3xxx en conformidad con la norma IRAM 681, con diámetro superior o igual a 60 milímetros pero inferior a 1.000 milímetros y de espesor superior o igual a 0.3 milímetros pero inferior o igual a 5 milímetros]. The decision is to no longer continue implementing anti-dumping measures for the involved products. The involved products specifically refer to 3xxx series non-alloy or alloy aluminum sheets that comply with the IRAM standard 681 of the Argentine National Standard, with specifications of: diameter greater than or equal to 60 millimeters and less than or equal to 1000 millimeters, and thickness greater than or equal to 0.3 millimeters but less than or equal to 5 millimeters. The South Common Market tariff codes of the involved products are 7606.91.00 and 7606.92.00. The announcement takes effect from the date of issuance.
On February 25, 2019, Argentina initiated an anti-dumping investigation into aluminum sheets originating from China. On February 26, 2020, Argentina made a positive final ruling on this case, officially imposing an anti-dumping duty of 80.14% based on the FOB price, with a validity period of five years. On February 18, 2025, the Argentine Ministry of Economy initiated a first sunset review investigation into aluminum sheets originating from China, and at the same time, launched a review investigation based on changes in circumstances. During the investigation period, no further anti-dumping duties will be imposed.
