Trump plans to lift some tariffs on metals and aluminum products

February 13th (Reuters) - According to a report by the Financial Times on Friday citing sources familiar with the matter, US President Donald Trump plans to reduce some tariffs on steel and aluminum products.
Last year, Trump imposed tariffs of up to 50% on imports of steel and aluminum, and also imposed tariffs on some non-steel and non-aluminum products.
The report adds that the government is currently reviewing the list of products affected by taxation and plans to exempt certain goods, halting the expansion of the list and instead conducting more targeted national security investigations on specific products.
Reuters was unable to immediately verify the report.
