Australia has made a final ruling in the interim review of aluminium profiles from Malaysia

On June 23, 2025, the Australian anti-Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2025/047 stating that the Minster for Industry and Science of Australia has approved the final ruling recommendation of the Australian anti-Dumping Commission on the interim review of anti-dumping on Aluminium Extrusions imported from Malaysia. The dumping margin of the Malaysian enterprise involved in the case, PMB Aluminium Sdn Bhd, is -4.4%. The provisional effective dumping tax rate is not applicable.

 

On August 16, 2016, the Australian anti-Dumping Commission issued an announcement stating that at the application of its domestic enterprise Capral Limited, it conducted anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations on aluminium profiles imported from Malaysia and Vietnam. On June 22, 2017, Australia made a positive final ruling on the case. On June 27, 2017, the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science of Australia issued an announcement, imposing anti-dumping and countervailing duties on the products involved from the above-mentioned countries for a period of five years.

 

On September 15, 2021, the Australian Anti-dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2021/119, stating that at the application submitted by the Australian enterprise Capral Limited, it initiated the first anti-dumping and countervailing duty sunset review investigation on aluminum profiles imported from Malaysia. At the same time, the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation was initiated on the involved products imported from Vietnam. On June 24, 2022, the Australian anti-Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2022/042, deciding not to continue the anti-dumping measures on the involved products from Malaysia and Vietnam, nor to continue the countervailing measures on the involved products from Malaysia. On August 17, 2022, the Australian anti-dumping Complaint Review Body initiated an administrative reconsideration against the final ruling of the sunset review made by the Minister on June 24, 2022. On December 14, 2023, the Minister for Industry and Science of Australia accepted the recommendation of the Australian Anti-dumping Complaint Review Body to continue imposing anti-dumping measures on Malaysia and Vietnam, and decided to continue the anti-dumping measures on the above-mentioned countries.

On February 22, 2024, the Australian anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2024/010 stating that in response to the domestic Australian enterprise Press Metal Aluminium (Australia) Pty Ltd. The submitted application initiated an interim review investigation of anti-dumping on aluminium profiles imported from Malaysia. Examine whether the variable factors related to the current anti-dumping measures have changed. The investigation period for dumping and subsidies in the case is from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. The Australian customs codes of the involved products are 7604.10.00.06, 7604.21.00.07, 7604.21.00.08, 7604.29.00.09, 7604.29.00.10, 7608.10.00.09, 7608.20.00.10 and 7610.10. 00.12 and 7610.90.00.13.
