Electricity prices for China's electrolytic aluminum industry in October 2025
November 10, 2025
According to statistics from Yuefeng Aluminum, the average comprehensive electricity price for China's electrolytic aluminum industry in October 2025 was 0.3931 yuan per kilowatt-hour, an increase of 0.0079 yuan per kilowatt-hour compared to 0.3852 yuan per kilowatt-hour in September 2025, representing a growth rate of 2.05%. It has dropped by 5.46% compared with the same period last year, and the average electricity price in 2025 is 0.4085 yuan per kilowatt-hour. In terms of thermal power, the electricity price of thermal power has a certain delaying effect on the price of thermal coal. In September, the downstream's enthusiasm for stocking up was relatively high, and the domestic thermal coal price center shifted upward, driving up the thermal power prices of some electrolytic aluminum enterprises. In terms of water and electricity, as the dry season transitions, the water and electricity prices of some enterprises have slightly increased. Overall, the comprehensive electricity price for the electrolytic aluminum industry in October rose slightly compared with the previous month. In October, the downstream demand was good, and the domestic thermal coal price trend was upward, which drove the thermal power price to continue to rise in November. November enters the dry season, and there is an expectation of an increase in hydropower prices. Therefore, it is expected that the comprehensive electricity price for the electrolytic aluminum industry will continue to rise month-on-month in November 2025.
