Emirates Global Aluminium will increase the production capacity of its aluminium recycling business in Germany

According to foreign media reports, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) announced that it will significantly expand its EGA Leichtmetall aluminium recycling business in Germany.
The new factory is located near Hanover and will increase its recycling capacity by more than six times, adding 110,000 tons of waste sorting capacity and 153,000 tons of smelting and casting capacity annually. The project has an investment of approximately 170 million US dollars and is expected to go into production in 2028. The current smelting and casting capacity of EGA Leichtmetall's existing factory in Hanover is approximately 30,000 tons per year.
EGA is expanding its global recycling business. GA Spectro Alloys in Minnesota has been increasing its capacity recently, and the largest aluminium recycling plant in the United Arab emirates is about to be completed.
Europe is the world's third-largest market for recycled aluminium, with recycled metals meeting approximately 40% of the demand. It is expected that this figure will increase significantly by 2033. EGA also supplies over 600,000 tons of primary aluminium to Europe every year.
