According to data from the Aluminum Association of the United States, the total aluminum demand in North America (including the United States and Canada) in 2025 is estimated to reach 26.65 billion pounds, representing a slight increase of 0.8% compared to the previous year. In 2024, the demand was 26.45 billion pounds.
The association's report indicates that in 2025, the output of aluminum producers in North America declined by 0.5%. In 2025, the import volume of aluminum and aluminum products in North America increased by 9.1%, mainly driven by flat-rolled products and unrolled aluminum.
In 2025, the demand for aluminum extrusions in North America declined by 3.1%, but the demand for plates, foils and wire materials all saw a slight increase.
In 2025, the inventory of scrap aluminum in North America increased by 18.6%, mainly driven by the tariff policy that encouraged the use of scrap aluminum.
In 2025, the export volume of aluminum rolled products in North America decreased by 13.2%.
