On May 29, 2025, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to make a positive final determination on the industrial damage of the first sunset review of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Aluminum Wire and Cable imported from China: It is ruled that if the current anti-dumping and countervailing measures are lifted, within a reasonably foreseeable period, the substantial damage caused to the domestic industry of the United States by the import of the involved products may continue or recede. According to the final ruling, the current anti-dumping and countervailing measures in this case remain valid.
On October 12, 2018, the US Department of Commerce initiated an anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation into aluminum wires and cables imported from China. On October 22, 2019, the US Department of Commerce made a final ruling on anti-dumping and countervailing duties on aluminum wires and cables imported from China. On November 4, 2024, the US Department of Commerce initiated the first sunset review investigation into anti-dumping and countervailing duties on aluminum wires and cables imported from China. On March 11, 2025, the US Department of Commerce made the final ruling on the first rapid sunset review of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on aluminum wires and cables imported from China.
