Yuefeng Aluminium Industry and TARMAC Aerosave have made significant breakthroughs in the field of aluminium recycling for end-of-life aircraft

According to the official website of Yuefeng Aluminium, Yuefeng Aluminium and TARMAC Aerosave, an aircraft dismantling and recycling company, jointly announced that they have successfully recycled and remelted aluminium from scrapped aircraft and made it into a new type of high-performance material suitable for future aerospace applications.
This milestone highlights the potential of aluminium in supporting the circular economy goals in the aerospace field without compromising material properties. After several months of cooperative research and development, especially with the support of Airbus and ValoER, Yuefeng Aluminium successfully remelted the aluminium recovered from TARMAC Aerosave from retired commercial aircraft to produce materials that meet the strict performance requirements required for the manufacturing of new aircraft. Next, Yuefeng Aluminum Industry will expand the industrial application scale of this process and extend it to all aluminum alloys used in metal aircraft, further demonstrating the complete recyclability of scrapped metal fuselages.
