On May 29th, the 2025 First Green Electricity Aluminum Forum, hosted by the Green Product Evaluation Center of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, was held in Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County, Xining City. At the opening ceremony, the list of the first batch of "Model Green Electricity Aluminum Producers" was released. Yuefeng Aluminum was awarded the title of "Model Green Electricity Aluminum Producer" for its continuous practice and exploration in the field of green electricity aluminum. It has achieved a leap from technological innovation to industrial demonstration.
As one of the first key aluminum industrial projects in the Western Development Initiative and the first local electrolytic aluminum enterprise in Guangxi, Yuefeng Aluminum has long been actively practicing the concept of green development and has continuously made efforts in the practice of "green electricity integrating aluminum", technological upgrading, and standard application.
In terms of energy utilization, Yuefeng Aluminum, relying on the hydropower resource advantages of Guangxi, has reached a strategic cooperation with the Baise Water Conservancy Hub Power Station, ensuring a stable supply of 450 million kilowatt-hours of clean hydropower resources annually. It also actively participates in the green power trading in the southern region, introduces nuclear power, and promotes photovoltaic projects in the factory area, thus building a green energy matrix featuring multi-energy complementarity of hydropower, nuclear power, and photovoltaic power.
In terms of technological innovation, Yuefeng Aluminum has carried out energy-saving upgrades on key equipment such as electrolytic cells and air compressors, achieving a reduction of 700 kilowatt-hours of electricity consumption per ton of aluminum and an annual reduction of 80,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Its energy consumption indicators lead the industry. Meanwhile, by leveraging "AI + digitalization" technology, we independently developed a digital platform for aluminum electrolysis control, achieving intelligent regulation of the entire production process and dynamic optimization of process parameters, with an annual emission reduction of over 700 tons.
In terms of standard implementation, Yuefeng Aluminum actively adheres to the green power aluminum evaluation standards and has established a complete green power aluminum evaluation management system. From 2023 to 2024, it will achieve 100% coverage of the approved volume of green power aluminum electrolytic primary aluminum liquid for two consecutive years.
This time, being awarded the title of "Model Green Power Aluminum Production Enterprise" is an industry recognition of Yuefeng Aluminum's long-term dedication to the green aluminum production field. It will help the enterprise further enhance its brand credibility, attract high-quality resources from the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain for cooperation, deepen its advantages in green power aluminum technology research and development, accelerate the construction of a virtuous cycle model of "emission reduction - cost reduction - income increase", and strengthen its core market competitiveness.
