Mexico initiates a sunset review investigation on anti-dumping measures for Chinese aluminum cookware

On September 28, 2026, the Mexican Ministry of Economy issued a notice stating that, upon the application of Mexican producer Vasconia Brands, S.A. de C.V., a second sunset review investigation on anti-dumping measures for aluminum cookware (Spanish: artículos para cocinar de aluminio) originating from China has been initiated. The investigation period for the dumping is from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026, and the investigation period for the injury is from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2026. The TIGIE tariff number of the involved products is 7615.10.02. The notice takes effect from the day after its release and during the investigation period, the current anti-dumping duties remain valid.
Interested parties should register for participation, submit responses and relevant evidence materials within 28 working days from the day after the notice is issued.
On April 15, 2015, Mexico initiated an anti-dumping investigation on aluminum cookware originating from or imported from China. On October 13, 2016, Mexico made a final anti-dumping ruling on aluminum cookware from China (TIGIE tariff number 7615.10.99), deciding to take the following anti-dumping measures: 1. For the involved products with an import price lower than the reference price of 10.6 US dollars per kilogram, the anti-dumping duty is calculated as the difference between the import price and the reference price; 2. For the involved products imported from Zhejiang Sanhe Kitchenware Co., Ltd., the tax rate does not exceed 5.65 US dollars per kilogram, and for the involved products imported from other Chinese exporters, the tax rate does not exceed 7.73 US dollars per kilogram; 3. For the involved products with an import price not lower than 10.6 US dollars per kilogram, no tax is imposed. According to Mexican relevant laws and regulations, since December 28, 2020, the TIGIE tariff number of the involved products has been changed to 7615.10.02. On October 5, 2021, Mexico initiated the first sunset review investigation on this case. On March 31, 2023, Mexico made the first sunset review final ruling on this case, deciding to maintain the anti-dumping measures determined in the original ruling on October 13, 2016 unchanged, and the measures came into effect on October 14, 2021, with a validity period of five years.
