The aluminium premium in Japan in the third quarter was $108 per ton, a 41% decrease from the previous quarter

On Monday, June 30th, market insiders said that the premium of high-quality Western aluminum arriving in Japan in the third quarter of this year was $108 per ton over the LME aluminum price, a significant 41% drop from the level in the second quarter, reflecting weak demand. This is also the second consecutive quarter that the quarterly aluminum premium in Japan has declined, and it is lower than the initial quote of $122- $145 per ton proposed by global producers.
