Recently, a special meeting on the technical roadmap for the advanced materials industry cluster (non-ferrous metals) and the aluminum processing industry in Guangdong Province, hosted by the Guangdong Academy of Sciences and organized by the Institute of New Materials of the Guangdong Academy of Sciences, was successfully held. Lin Jianqing, deputy Director of the Industrial Materials Division of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province, and Liu Xin, deputy director of the New Materials Research Institute of the Guangdong Academy of Sciences, attended the meeting. Experts and representatives from enterprises, universities, industry associations and research institutes related to the nonferrous metals industry chain both within and outside the province, including Central South University, Dongguan University of Technology, Guangdong Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, New Materials Institute of Guangdong Academy of Sciences, Guangdong Corrosion Science and Technology Innovation Research Institute, Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, Xingfa Aluminum Industry, Fenglu Aluminum Industry, Huahong Copper Tube, etc. The working group of the Advanced Materials Industry Cluster Consulting Institution in the Nonferrous Metals Field of Guangdong Province and relevant responsible persons from the Scientific Research Management Department of the Guangdong Academy of Sciences attended the meeting.
This meeting focused on the current situation, existing problems and future development trends of the non-ferrous metal industry in Guangdong Province, gathering the wisdom of all parties to offer suggestions for the high-quality development of the industry. At the same time, discussions will be held around the market demand, industrial goals, technical barriers and R&D needs of the aluminum processing industry in Guangdong Province, and a technical roadmap for the aluminum processing industry in Guangdong Province will be sorted out.
During the special report session, Professor Tang Jianguo from Central South University delivered a special report titled "High-Performance Aluminum Processing Technology and Application", focusing on the development trends of aluminum processing technology, especially the empowerment of the aluminum industry by AI and green recycled aluminum alloy materials. Lei Qian, a researcher from Central South University, delivered a special report titled "Research Progress and Prospects of Copper-based Composites", elaborating on the research hotspots and development directions of copper alloys and copper-based composites, as well as their applications in fields such as automobiles, electronics, and power transmission. Dr. Song Dongfu from the Institute of New Materials of the Provincial Academy of Sciences delivered a report titled "Development and Application of New Aluminum Alloy Modifiers", introducing application examples of rare earth new composite modifiers in aluminum alloys, especially in deformed aluminum alloys, providing a solution for the grade preservation and recycling utilization of recycled aluminum. Dr. Zhou Nan from the Working Group of the Nonferrous Metals Field of the Advanced Materials Industry Cluster Consulting Institution of Guangdong Province delivered a special report titled "Introduction to the Nonferrous Metals Industry and Technology Roadmap of Guangdong Province", introducing the current development status, market demand, and related information of the industrial technology roadmap of the domestic and Guangdong nonferrous metals industry.
This meeting further sorted out the development situation of the non-ferrous metal industry in our province and the development map of the aluminum processing industry in Guangdong, laying a foundation for the high-quality development of the non-ferrous metal field in the advanced materials industrial cluster of our province and the refinement of the technical roadmap for the aluminum processing industry.
